One major common mistake that I have seen in those DIY weddings is wrong choice of lights. The wedding planner, be it the bride or the mom, always gets attached to many details like wedding favors for the guests, for the bridesmaids, the centerpiece, the necklace, the invitation cards, but not the actual venue lights.
