5 Tips to Choose Music for Your Wedding Party

There are so many choices out there for wedding party playlists. Too many options sometimes just made it even more difficult to choose.  But music is extremely important to the overall success of your wedding party. Here are 5 tips for you to help choose the songs for your wedding reception.

1. Music you enjoy
This is the most important thing. Like what we talked about in the 10 things that would make your wedding akward, music that you don't enjoy will make you look nervous and cannot enjoy one another. No matter how popular a song is, if you do not enjoy it yourself, you will not be able to walk down the aisle confidently with it. It is also a "personal statement" for you as a person/couple. Consider how important the wedding party is as a social function, definitely pick up some music you enjoy and would "present" you the best for your wedding party.

2. Live bands are great but expensive
Live bands are all good except that they are very expensive. Hiring several professional people to come all the way to your party and perform throughout the party is considerably pricy. But they are not that entertaining besides keeping the music going. They can sometimes be distractive too. In the same spirit of renting a wedding gown, you can easily get very cheap music alternative by just playing pre-recorded songs that are proven to be perfect. Think twice before your hire a live band for your wedding reception.

3. Fit into the same genre
You want your wedding songs to kind of fit into the same genre. If the transition between one song to another is too dramatic, the wedding party guests cannot enjoy the wedding reception and one another at peace. Also it is best to have the songs echoing similar themes. These themes are your "personal statements" that will help you establish your images in the social circles of one another. Make sure the music go well with the wedding venue decoration too.

4. Involve people when making the decision
As we talked about in the ring choosing article, it is probably a good idea to involve some important people when making the decisions about wedding party music. The list can include your own husband-to-be, future mother-in-law, your father, your mother, or even a bride maid that you want to show special friendship. You don't have to let them decide the whole list, but maybe one or two songs is good enough to show your appreciation of them. This is another trick to build up or strengthen relationships as you start a new chapter of your life.

5. Recognize the music somewhere in your wedding pop
You may not need to pay someone loyalty fees when you use the music for your private wedding party. But it is probably safer if you recognize the music source somewhere in the wedding. One straightforward place is the wedding program booklet. Or you can print them in the wedding invitation cards too.
